When we look at the property market and try to forecast where it is headed, we all know that it tends to act like a rolling ball. Once it starts in motion, it tends to move in that general direction or stop for a while. Retirement villages are an interesting concept, it gives you a right to occupy space much like other concepts for different sectors in NZ. It is governed by the Retirement Villages Act 2003. The Retirement Code of Practice 2008(1) dictates the minimum requirements that have to be in place for residents in Retirement villages.

I don’t read the paper/on-line economic news anymore as I know what it is going to tell me. We already know that inflation has skyrocketed following the quantitative easing that was required during the pandemic. It happened here, it happened almost everywhere, we knew it would.

Chris Hipkins officially took over the reigns from Jacinda Ardern on Wednesday 25th January. I read somewhere that the middle of last year would be a good time for Jacinda to retire and come December, ten months from the election, it was going to be too late.
